Jiangsu winter curbs to have no impact on NPI, #300 stainless steel output

Production of NPI and #300 stainless steel is unlikely to be affected as restrictions target blast furnaces

SHANGHAI, Nov 1 (SMM) – Production of nickel pig iron (NPI) and #300 stainless steel in Jiangsu province is unlikely to be affected by provincial winter curbs this year as the restrictions mainly target blast furnaces, SMM learned.

The eastern province issued the document for winter production curbs last week and required mills in steel, building materials, coke, foundry, nonferrous, chemical sectors to cut emissions by 30% or 50% from November 2018 to February 2019.
