The probes in key cities along the river will be carried out from Nov 1-10

SHANGHAI, Oct 30 (SMM) – Inspection teams from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) will settle in cities along the Yangtze River on Wednesday October 31, and carry out environmental probes from November 1-10, according to an MEE announcement.

Probes will focus on the implementation of air pollution control regulations across major polluting companies.

The move covers Shanghai and cities of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, including Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang, Hangzhou, and Ningbo.

Inspection teams were selected from environmental authorities in Beijing, Tianjin, and provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, and Shandong, SMM learned.

We believe that the move is partly in response to the first-ever China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai on November 5-10.
