China’s aluminium inventories grow during National Day break

Stocks saw mild gains during the week-long break as fewer-than-expected cargoes arrived at warehouses

SHANGHAI, Oct 8 (SMM) – Aluminium inventories across major Chinese consumption areas grew slightly during the week-long National Day break as fewer-than-expected cargoes arrived at warehouses, SMM research found.

Stocks across eight consumption areas, including SHFE warrants, increased by some 14,000 mt from Thursday September 27 to stand at 1.604 million mt as of Monday October 8, SMM data showed.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 685,000 mt

Shanghai – 358,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 239,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 118,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 97,000 mt

Tianjin – 57,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 25,000 mt

Chongqing – 25,000 mt
