SHANGHAI, Sep 27 (SMM) – Refining charges (RCs) for blister copper were barely changed from the levels seen at the end of August as the spot market was quiet ahead of long-term treatment and refining charges negotiations and as commissioned new capacities and resumed existing capacities grew demand, SMM believes.
As of Thursday September 27, RCs for imported blister copper were mostly heard at $180-200/mt on a cif basis, and RCs for domestic materials stood at 1,400-1,600 yuan/mt, transport costs included.
It is widely expected that long-term RCs for imported blister copper would be at $160-170/mt in 2019, largely flat with levels seen in 2018.
