Limited arrivals, preholiday stockpiling extends decline in aluminium inventories

SHANGHAI, Sep 27 (SMM) – Primary aluminium inventories across major consumption areas in China extended their declines this week as downstream consumers stockpiled ahead of the week-long National Day holiday and as limited materials arrived at the warehouses, SMM research found.

Stocks across eight consumption areas, including SHFE warrants, decreased by some 33,000 mt from a week ago to stand at 1.59 million mt as of Thursday September 27, SMM data showed.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 686,000 mt

Shanghai – 363,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 203,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 138,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 93,000 mt

Tianjin – 56,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 24,000 mt

Chongqing – 27,000 mt
