SHANGHAI, Sep 27 (SMM) – China exported 1,697 mt of steel scrap in August, down 99.6% on a yearly basis, according to the latest data from China Customs, taking the year-to-date volume to 333,018 mt, standing 62.1% lower than the same period last year.
Customs data also showed that China’s exports of flat steel products stood at 3.41 million mt in August, down 14.9% year on year. The volume totaled 26.95 million mt in January-August, down 13.3% from the corresponding period last year.
For long steel products, a total of 1.03 million mt were exported from China in August, according to the Customs.
