SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) – Sales of new-energy vehicles (NEVs) in China rose 49.5% from a year ago to stand at 101,000 units in August, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In detail, sales of pure electric vehicles (EVs) came in at 73,000 units in August, up 31.7% from last year; sales of plug-in hybrid EVs surged 130.8% from a year ago, to 28,000 units, CAAM data showed.
From January to August, China’s NEVs sales jumped 88% from the same period last year, to 601,000 units. Among them, sales of pure EVs were 447,000 units, up 71.6% year on year, and sales of plug-in hybrid EVs reached 154,000 units, up 159.7% on the year.
