SHANGHAI, Sep 21 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary lead across Shanghai and Guangdong decreased 1,900 mt over the week ended September 21 to stand at 10,700 mt, SMM data showed. The decline came after two consecutive weeks of increases.
Despite arrivals of imported materials, the stocks shrank as the lead-acid battery market stayed in a busy season and as battery plants stockpiled ahead of the Mid-Autumn and the National Day holiday.
Typhoon Mangkhut forced some battery plants to suspend operation. This slightly grew the stocks in Guangdong.
