Transactions were mostly heard at 17,800-18,000 yuan/mt, ex-factory

SHANGHAI, Sep 20 (SMM) – Manganese prices in the Chinese market held steady on Thursday September 20 as producers made mixed offers, SMM research found.

Transactions were mostly heard at 17,800-18,000 yuan/mt, ex-factory.

Some producers were keen to offload their cargoes to recover their funds while some held offers firm as they had sufficient orders and as they had limited finished goods stocks.

The market waits to take some guidance from steel mills’ purchasing prices for their tenders.

Separately, data from the Customs showed that China exported 35,600 mt of manganese in August, up 3% from July.
