SHANGHAI, Sep 17 (SMM) –Typhoon Mangkhut did not significantly affect lead smelters and lead-acid battery producers across Guangdong province, SMM research found.
Some secondary lead smelters suspended operation. A smelter with a production permit for Yingde city told SMM that it halted operation during September 16-17 and would recover on September 18.
Zhongjin Lingnan, a Shenzhen-based primary lead smelter, maintained normal operation as its location in Shaoguan city was relatively safe from the typhoon.
SMM also learned that lead-acid battery producers in Guangdong ceased operation during September 16-17 and would resume output from Tuesday.
