Rebar stocks dip for two weeks on maintenance, environmental curbs

Inventories across steel mills stood at 1.73 million mt as of Sep 13, down 4.7% from a week ago and down 25.7% from a year ago

SHANGHAI, Sep 13 (SMM) – China's in-plant inventories of rebar extended its decline on the week that ended Thursday September 13, SMM data showed. This lowered overall rebar stocks for the second consecutive week. 

Maintenance and environmental curbs lowered supplies and stocks. Inventories across steel mills stood at 1.73 million mt as of September 13, down 4.7% from a week ago and down 25.7% from a year ago. Social stocks shrank 9.5% from a year ago to stand at 4.41 million mt as of Thursday, but grew 0.1% from a week ago.

Overall inventories, including social and in-plant stocks, decreased to 6.13 million mt as of Thursday, down 1.3% on the week and down 14.7% on the year.
