Report: China mulls exemptions for winter production curbs

Central authorities may not require heavy industries in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and nearby areas to cut output this winter, Caixin reported on Thursday September 13, according to a preliminary plan by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE).

Mills across those regions, however, are still required to operate beyond peak hours. Authorities would also set targets for capacity cuts. Mills that met ultra-low emission standards could be excluded from production curbs.
