Limited arrivals lower aluminium inventories below 1.7 million mt

Stocks across eight consumption areas decreased by some 31,000 mt from Thursday to stand at 1.683 million mt as of Monday Sep 10

SHANGHAI, Sep 10 (SMM) – Primary aluminium inventories across eight consumption areas, including SHFE warrants, decreased by some 31,000 mt from Thursday September 6 to stand at 1.683 million mt as of Monday September 10, SMM data showed.

There were limited deliveries that arrived at social warehouses over the weekend, and this lowered stocks across those consumption areas.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 708,000 mt

Shanghai – 378,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 223,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 161,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 98,000 mt

Tianjin – 61,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 28,000 mt

Chongqing – 26,000 mt

The US Fed raised its GDP growth expectations across the board while also raising its core PCE inflation expectations for this year and next year. The US Fed’s FOMC economic projections showed that the median GDP growth expectations for the end of 2026, 2027, and 2028 were 2.4%, 2.3%, and 2.1%, respectively (vs. 2.3%, 2.0%, and 1.9% expected last December).
