Report: Zhejiang eyes transportation output of 3.3 trillion yuan by 2022

Zhejiang province reaffirmed its commitment to developing its transportation industry

East China's Zhejiang province reaffirmed its commitment to developing its transportation industry, with a target output of 3.3 trillion yuan by 2020, Xinhua News learned from the provincial transportation department on Monday August 27.

Province authorities also eyed an industrial value added goal of 900 billion yuan and average annual growth of 9% by 2020. Production in transportation is expected to account for more than 12.5% of overall production across the province by then.

Eariler this month, the province issued a plan to develop a "Greater Bay Area" around its capital Hangzhou, with a planned investment of one trillion yuan in the transportation sector over five years.

The government is stepping up its efforts in building the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Ningbo expressway in a bid to manage to open the road to traffic ahead of 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou.
