Long steel inventory in Guangzhou grows faster on the week

Social inventories of long steel in Guangzhou rose 24,100 mt from a week ago to stand at 672,500 mt as of Aug 16, SMM data showed

SHANGHAI, Aug 16 (SMM) – Social inventories of long steel in Guangzhou, Guangdong province rose 24,100 mt from a week ago to stand at 672,500 mt as of Thursday August 16, SMM data showed.

The inventory grew faster than a rebound of 5,500 mt registered last Thursday.

While rebar inventories shrank 1,200 mt on the week to 403,200 mt, stocks of wire rods jumped 25,300 mt to 269,300 mt.

Social inventories of long steel (including wire rods and rebar) in Guangzhou decreased 140,800 mt or 10.24% in the week ended April 26 to 752,400 mt, showed SMM data. Stocks were 24.75% lower than the same period last year.
