Environmental inspectors from the central government will settle across 11 cities in Fenwei plain from Aug 20

SHANGHAI, Aug 8 (SMM) – Environmental inspectors from the central government will settle across 11 cities in Fenwei plain from August 20 for Blue Skies initiatives, according to the plan from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE).

The 11 cities are Lvliang, Jinzhong, Linfen, Yuncheng in Shanxi province, Luoyang, Sanmengxia in Henan province, Xi’an, Xianyang, Boaji, Tongchuan, Weinan in Shaanxi province.

This round of probes, which will last till November 11, is the second phase of supervision in 2018-2019 for air pollution control under the Blue Skies initiatives. The first round, from June 11-August 5, covered “2+26” cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and nearby areas. The third, and final, round from November 12, 2018 to April 28, 2019 would extend to provinces in the Yangtze River Delta.
