Iron ore arrivals at Chinese ports to dip

Some 66 vessels with 8.89 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive during Aug 3-9, down 90,000 mt during Jul 27 to Aug 2

SHANGHAI, Aug 6 (SMM) – Some 66 vessels with 8.89 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive at major Chinese ports during August 3-9, down 90,000 mt from 8.98 million mt during July 27 to August 2, SMM data showed.

For the same period, volumes of iron ore departing Australian ports are likely to decrease 380,000 mt to 15.12 million mt and those leaving Brazilian ports arelikely to shrink by 250,000 mt to 7.67 million mt. Port maintenance accounted for the declines.

China: Yuncheng 100 MW / 140.4 MWh Hybrid BESS Project Issues Tender

October 8, 2026: A tender was issued for the 100 MW / 140.4 MWh hybrid energy storage project in Jiang County, Yuncheng, Shanxi Province. The tender covers lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system integration. Upon completion, the project will provide peak shaving, frequency regulation, and renewable energy accommodation services for the Shanxi grid. Shanxi, as a major new energy province, has seen frequent storage procurement activity reflecting urgent demand for flexible resources.
