Report: Cathode project with 100,000 mt annual capacity to commission by end-2018

The first phase of Ronbay Technology's lithium battery cathode material project is likely to be commissioned by the end of this year

SHANGHAI, Aug 6 (SMM) – The first phase of Ronbay Technology's lithium battery cathode material project with 100,000 mt annual capacity is expected to be commissioned by the end of this year.

Construction of the first phase started in April. New employees were hired and trained last month to prepare for the project’s commissioning.

The first phase covers an area of 300 mu, which is part of Ronbay Technology’s 600 mu lithium battery industrial park in Zunyi of Guizhou province. Construction of the industrial park is scheduled to complete in two years, with an estimated annual output value of 12 billion yuan.

The new project is expected to raise China's cathode material capacity to 280,000 mt this year, according to SMM data.

Budun Yingen Mining will implement an underground silver mining and beneficiation project in the mining area, with a construction scale of 2.97 million mt/year.
