Yingkou announced the cancellation of its 2.5 million mt alumina project in Gaizhou county on Aug 5

SHANGHAI, Aug 6 (SMM) – The government of Yingkou city, Liaoning province, announced the cancellation of a 2.5-million-mt alumina project in Gaizhou county on August 5 due to environmental concerns, SMM learned.

The government initiated the project with Bosai Group earlier this year. With an investment of 5 billion yuan, two production lines with annual capacity of 1.25 million mt each were planned.
