Aluminium billet inventory grows for five weeks

SHANGHAI, Aug 2 (SMM) – Sluggish consumption in the low season grew inventories of aluminium billet across China for a fifth consecutive week as of Thursday August 2.

Inventories of 6063 aluminium billet across five major areas rose by 5,800 mt from last Thursday to stand at 85,200 mt, SMM data showed. 

The rise slowed from a week-on-week increase of 8,600 mt last Thursday. 

Details are as follows:

Foshan, Guangdong – 45,100 mt

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 12,900 mt

Changzhou, Jiangsu – 8,500 mt

Huzhou, Zhejiang – 8,000 mt

Nanchang, Jiangxi – 10,700 mt
