Recent, continuous rainfall affected silicon production in Sichuan province

SHANGHAI, Jul 23 (SMM) – Recent, continuous rainfall affected silicon production in Sichuan province, SMM learned.

Some producers suspended operation in the Aba area where chemical-grade materials are produced. Torrential downpours also affected cargo transport.

Silicon prices at Huangpu port held steady on Monday July 23. Transactions of non-oxygen #553 were mostly done at 11,500-11,600 yuan/mt while most producers offered at 11,700 yuan/mt.

Non-oxygen silicon #553 producers with spot cargoes are likely to hold their offers firm this week as some producers have orders to complete, SMM expects.
