DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingSHANGHAI, Jul 18 (SMM) – A large, stainless steel mill in south China planned to cut production of #201 products in July, given high prices and tight supplies of manganese, SMM learned.
Steel production of 20,000-30,000 mt is expected to be affected. The mill will focus on cold-rolled production after it carries out its planned cut.
Market participants believe that such a production cut is justified as the latest manganese prices are likely to turn profits on the #200 series into losses.
