SHANGHAI, Jul 16 (SMM) – China produced 4,700 mt of lithium manganese oxide last month, up 4.2% from May, SMM data showed.
The rise was mainly contributed by more output in Hunan province. Supply in Guizhou and Shandong provinces also inched up, SMM learned.
SMM forecasts the production to reach 4,900 mt in July, as suppliers are unwilling to lower operating rates given current high profits. Production in Guangxi province will also rise this month as local producer Citic Dameng commissioned the first stage its lithium manganese oxide project on June 27. The project has a total annual capacity of 10,000 mt.
