SHANGHAI, Jul 11 (SMM) – Some lead-acid battery plants in Yichun city, Jiangxi province, suspended their production again after a brief recovery at the beginning of this month due to a new round of environmental probes by the local government, SMM learned.
During the environmental reviews by the central government, some lead-acid battery plants in the region ceased their production for close to one month. They resumed their production to some 50% at the beginning of this month after the reviews came to an end.
However, the local government recently kicked off a new round of inspections. Sources told SMM that some plants were under full suspension again from last Friday July 6. This round of probes is expected to last until July 25.
