Downstream stockpiling draws down aluminium billet inventory

SHANGHAI, Jun 28 (SMM) – China’s aluminium billet inventory dipped over the week ended Thursday June 28 as downstream consumers stockpiled after the prices fell and stabilised, SMM learned.

Inventories of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China shrank 1,900 mt from last Thursday to stand at 61,300 mt, SMM data showed.

Details are as follows:

Foshan, Guangdong – 37,000 mt

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 4,500 mt

Changzhou, Jiangsu – 6,300 mt

Huzhou, Zhejiang – 7,600 mt

Nanchang, Jiangxi – 5,900 mt
