Aluminium inventory dips slower on the week

Primary aluminium inventories, including SHFE warrants, declined slower on the week as deliveries to warehouses grew

SHANGHAI, Jun 21 (SMM) – China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, declined slower on the week as deliveries to warehouses grew slightly while lower aluminium prices affected downstream purchasing interest.

As of June 21, inventories of primary aluminium across eight major consumption areas in China shrank 40,000 mt from last Thursday to stand at 1.88 million mt, SMM data showed. This compared with a drop of 53,000 mt recorded on Thursday June 14

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 795,000 mt

Shanghai – 433,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 252,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 167,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 120,000 mt

Tianjin – 60,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 30,000 mt

Chongqing – 27,000 mt
