Operating rate at primary lead smelters up 2.1 percentage points in May

The operating rate across China's primary lead smelters in May gained 2.1 percentage points from April and stood at 59.7%, SMM surveyed.

SHANGHAI, Jun 8 (SMM) – The operating rate across China's primary lead smelters in May gained 2.1 percentage points from April and stood at 59.7%, SMM surveyed. The figure is down 0.09 percentage points from the same period last year.  

SMM expects that operating rates will fall to 55.2% in June as primary lead smelters in Jiyuan, Henan province faced month-long production cuts of 30-50% for environmental reviews.
