SHANGHAI, Jun 8 (SMM) – An estimated 520,000 mt of molten iron output will be affected as steelmaker Sangang Minguang in Fujian province plans to overhaul its 1,050 m3 blast furnace from August 1, SMM learned.

Maintenance will last some 120 days. This is likely to sharply lower overall output from steel mills in the second half of the year.

The company's branch in Luoyuan County will also carry out maintenance on its 650 m3 blast furnace from July 25 to August 31. This is estimated to affect 70,000 mt of molten iron output.
