SHANGHAI, Jun 7 (SMM) – Guangxi China Tin Group will conduct an annual overhaul on its Ausmelt furnaces from June 10, SMM learned. Maintenance is expected to last 45 days to July 25.
The Group mainly produces Jinhai brand tin ingots, and has production capacity of 25,000 mt of tin ingots per year. Output in the first five months amounted to 3,700 mt, with output in May at 900 mt. No tin ingots will be produced during the overhaul but the Group will complete production of semi-finished products.
Ausmelt furnaces, with efficient top submerged lance (TSL) smelting technology, is widely used in the production of copper, lead, tin, nickel, platinum group metals (PGMs), zinc and ferrous metals around the world.
