SHANGHAI, Jun 4 (SMM) – Treatment charges (TCs) for domestic 50% lead concentrate rose 50 yuan/mt in metal content from last week to stand at 1,500-1,600 yuan/mt in metal content delivered to factory as of Monday June 4, SMM learned.
Supplies of domestic lead concentrate rose as mining companies in areas with challenging climate conditions such as Qinghai, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia resumed production as the weather turned warm in June.
Demand from consumption across domestic smelters is expected to remain flat in June as some smelters were heard to undertake maintenance while some will resume production on the warm weather.
TCs for imported lead concentrate stood mostly unchanged from last week to offer at $15-25/dry mt as of June 4, with a few offers at $10/dry mt. SMM believed that the lower offer was due to limited overseas lead concentrates and high import demand from domestic traders on profit margins.
