Japan's production of aluminium flat rolled up 4.7% YoY in Apr

SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) – Japan produced 107,000 mt of flat rolled aluminium products in April, up 4.7% year on year, according to data from the Japan Aluminium Association.

In April, aluminium flat rolled plates for automobiles rose 7.1% on the year and stood at 14,000 mt. Aluminium cans went up 3.0% on the year and stood at 37,000 mt.

Production of aluminium extruded products came in at 65,000 mt in April, up 0.1% year on year. This brought overall production volumes of aluminium flat rolled and extruded products to 172,000 mt in April, up 2.9% year on year.
