Report: Jiangxi aims for 500,000 new-energy vehicles by 2020

The government of Jiangxi province plans to push its annual capacity of new-energy vehicles (NEVs) to 500,000 units by 2020 with operating revenues of 50 billion yuan

SHANGHAI, May 28 (SMM) – The government of Jiangxi province plans to push its annual capacity of new-energy vehicles (NEVs) to 500,000 units by 2020 with operating revenues of 50 billion yuan, Xinhua reported on Monday May 28. In 2017, production and sales of NEVs in Jiangxi stood at 51,000 and 42,000 units, respectively. 

By 2020, technology levels of manufacturing NEVs or key components in Jiangxi is expected to exceed those in the rest of China. The province will also aim to establish an automaker with annual sales of over 10 billion yuan.

Some 260 charging stations with 100,000 charging points will also be built to meet demand of NEVs by then.
