SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) – As of Wednesday May 23, refining charges (RCs) of imported blister copper dipped from the start of May as demand slowed and imports declined, SMM learned.
On May 23, RCs stood at $200-230/mt cif and 1,700-1,900 yuan/mt for goods delivered to factory at domestic smelters. This compared with $220-240/mt cif and 1,800-2,000 yuan/mt on May 9.
RCs began to climb from the start of March, when they stood above 1,300 yuan/mt.
