SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) – Traded prices of high-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) ore, with 1.8% Ni imported from the Philippines, rose to $54/wmt cif as of Tuesday May 22, SMM surveyed.
The price stood $0.5/wmt cif higher from prices on April 21. Most of the buyers were plants in south China, SMM learned.
Tight supplies of high-grade NPI ore and higher sea freight charges accounted for the rise in imported prices.
