Silicon production recovered across Nujiang, one of the three main silicon producing areas in Yunnan. Most plants in Baoshan and Dehong, the other two main producing areas, will resume operations in early June when electricity costs are adjusted for the rainy season.

In Baoshan, some plants resumed operations but are not at full capacity. In Dehong, seven submerged arc furnaces across six silicon plants are in operation while another six await approvals to restart.

On Friday May 18, prices of 441# silicon traded at 13,000-13,100 yuan/mt with 3303# around 14,100 yuan/mt.
