Shaanxi to cut coke production in summer
The government of Shaanxi province plans to limit production in the sectors of petrochemical, coal-to-chemicals, coke and cement in Guanzhong area in a bid to control air pollution, SMM learned.
SHANGHAI, May 11 (SMM) – The government of Shaanxi province plans to limit production in the sectors of petrochemical, coal-to-chemicals, coke and cement in Guanzhong area in a bid to control air pollution, SMM learned.
From June 1 to August 31, 20% of production capacity in the coke sector would be restricted, while the restrictions in petrochemical and coal-to-chemical industries would be 20% and 15%, respectively.
The Guanzhong area, in the centre of Shaanxi province, covers major cities including Baoji, Xianyang, Xi’an, Weinan and Tongchuan.
