Operating rates across primary lead smelters to rise to 63.2% in May

Operating rates across primary lead smelters are likely to rise to 63.2% in May as some smelters in the south resume production after maintenance

SHANGHAI, May 8 (SMM) – Operating rates across primary lead smelters are likely to rise to 63.2% in May as some smelters in the south resume production after maintenance, SMM believed. Output of primary lead in May is also expected to grow accordingly.

SMM data showed that operating rates stood at 57.5% in April. 

China's primary lead production reached 224,700 mt in April this year, down nearly 0.5% from a month ago but up almost 2% from a year ago. From January to April, total domestic output of primary lead dipped 4.9% from the same period in 2017 and stood at 880,100 mt.
