Traded prices for aluminium billet processing fees dipped to a low of 700 yuan/mt on Friday May 4 with fewer transactions than aluminium ingots

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – Traded prices for aluminium billet processing fees dipped to a low of 700 yuan/mt on Friday May 4 with fewer transactions than aluminium ingots, SMM learned.

This was because most processing plants raised the proportion of aluminium ingots and reduced that of aluminium billet in their raw materials, due to high processing fees for billet.

As inventories of aluminium billet and supplies of molten aluminium both shrank, aluminium rod processing fees in Guangdong surged to 850 yuan/mt earlier this week from 500 yuan/mt in mid-April.
