SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – China's zinc inventories in warehouses across Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong shrank 6,400 mt to stand at 148,100 mt as of Friday May 4, according to SMM data.

This compared with 154,500 mt on Wednesday May 2 after the Labour Day holiday. Drops were seen in all three markets.

Downstream demand rose in the Guangdong market this week, SMM learned. In Shanghai, fewer delivery arrival and downstream buyers stockpiling after the holiday accounted for the inventory drop.
