Higher processing fee for aluminium rod to offset lower profit of aluminium ingot

Aluminium rod processors in Shandong province raised the processing fee for pure aluminium rods by over 300 yuan/mt on Tuesday April 24, in order to offset lower profits from aluminium ingots

SHANGHAI, Apr 24 (SMM) – Aluminium rod processors in Shandong province raised the processing fee for pure aluminium rods by over 300 yuan/mt on Tuesday April 24, in order to offset lower profits from aluminium ingots, SMM learned. 

This drove the processing fee to about 780 yuan/mt, paid by downstream cable companies to aluminium rod processors.

Prices of aluminium ingots slumped to 14,490 yuan/mt on April 24, 460 yuan/mt lower from the previous day.
