The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced on April 18 that it will undertake anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on a particular railway wheel product made in China and France

SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) – The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced on April 18 that it will undertake anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on a particular railway wheel product made in China and France, according to China's Ministry of Commerce. The probe will examine exports to Australia from January 1, 2017 to 31 December, 2017.

The products that will be examined are forged and rolled steel of high hardness and a nominal 38-inch (or 966-970 mm) diametre and railway wheels that could also include alloys. The railway wheels are used on carriages that transport iron ore.

The investigations began after Australian manufacturer of railway wheels, Commonwealth Steel Company Pty Ltd, filed an application with the commission. China exported an estimated $7.7 million of this product to Australia in 2017.
