Xinjiang GCL kicks start 200,000-mt silicon project

Xinjiang GCL New Energy Materials Technology has officially kicked off a new silicon project of 200,000 mt this week, SMM learned.

SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) – Xinjiang GCL New Energy Materials Technology has officially kicked off a new silicon project of 200,000 mt this week, SMM learned.

With a total investment of 2.8 billion yuan, this project would include 100,000 mt of silicon powder processing and production as well as 100,000 mt of regular products, covering an area of 82.4 hectares.

The first stage of the 8*33MVA electric furnace production system is estimated to be commissioned in April 2019, with full capacity to be reached in August.
