SHANGHAI, Apr 13 (SMM) – With an incremental supply of 33,000 mt, China's lithium carbonate supply is expected to exceed demand in 2018, according to senior analyst at SMM, Hong Lu.
Chinese demand for this year is expected to increase by 8,100 mt lithium carbonate equivalent compared with the previous year, Hong told delegates at the SMM CoLiNi Summit on Friday April 13 in Quzhou, Zhejiang province.
From 2016 to 2020, the global lithium supply is forecast to grow at an annual compound growth rate of 31%.
