SHANGHAI, Mar 16 (SMM) – Nickel prices faced downward pressure recently as nickel ore imports from the Philippines are likely to pick up when the weather improves, an SMM survey showed. The pick-up is likely to come earlier than SMM expected earlier this week.
Downward pressure intensified as operations at downstream plants in Huade County, Inner Mongolia were affected by environmental policies and as producers of nickel ore were keen to destock at lower prices.
