SHANGHAI, Mar 7 (SMM) – One nickel pig iron (NPI) producer in south China started a new rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) in February and its March output is set to increase by 50% to 1,000 mt in metal content, SMM learned. This would account for 3% China’s NPI production.
A small NPI producer in north China, however, saw its production suspended last month due to operating issues. The company’s monthly production was 180 mt in metal content, SMM learned. It is unclear when the operations would resume.
