China’s largest lithium carbonate project has been officially commissioned this week, according to a report by the Economic Daily.
Located in Qinghai province, the 50,000-mt, 8-billion-yuan project is co-developed by Qinghai Salt Lake BYD Resources and Qinghai Fuozhao Lanke Lithium.
Separately, investment in the lithium-ion battery industry in Qinghai is expected to amount to 70 billion yuan by 2020 as the resource-rich province plans to further China’s development in the new-energy vehicle sector, the report noted.
