Flash: LME copper inventory highest since May 2017

LME copper inventory added over 40,000 mt over the past two days to 336,225 mt as of Friday February 9.

SHANGHAI, Feb 9 (SMM) – LME copper inventory added over 40,000 mt over the past two days to 336,225 mt as of Friday February 9, highest level seen since May 2017. The ratio of cancelled warrants also dropped to 12.9% amid weak demand.

LME inventory surged 119,025 mt to 880,975 mt as of February, recording a daily increase of 16%, the fastest since last March, mainly contributed by Port Kelang (+53,650 mt) and Singapore (+66,650 mt).
