SHANGHAI, Feb 9 (SMM) – China produced 5.71 million mt of alumina in January, up 2.3% from January 2017, SMM data showed.
Daily output averaged 184,000 mt, up 2.8% from levels recorded in December.
Higher production in January was mainly due to the end of environmental checks in Henan province and the increasing output from Liulin Senze in Shanxi province following its commissioning. In addition, resumption of natural gas supply has led some production to recover.
