SMM forecast China’s nickel pig iron (NPI) production to hit 500,000 mt in nickel content this year, representing a 18% year-on-year growth.

SHANGHAI, Feb 6 (SMM) – SMM forecast China’s nickel pig iron (NPI) production to hit 500,000 mt in nickel content this year, representing a 18% year-on-year growth.

This is based on considerations of sufficient nickel ore supply and less NPI imports from Tsingshan Group’s operations in Indonesia as its stainless steel project there reaches full capacity.
