Organosilicon producers begin Spring Festival restocking

SHANGHAI, Dec 27 (SMM)- Most organosilicon producers have started to stock up on chemical-grade silicon ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday in February, SMM learned.

However, we believe such restocking has little impact on the price of chemical-grade silicon and that it is expected to be stable next month.

Typically, organosilicon producers restock two to three months before long holidays. We think this wave of purchasing will see delivery until early February. The restocking merely brings forward the procurement timing and we expect little change in actual demand on the volume basis.
